- Foundational Knowledge – Earning AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner demonstrates you have a high-level understanding of AWS services, use cases, billing and pricing models, security concepts, and how cloud impacts your business.
- Collaboration and Communication – Communicate effectively about AWS Cloud with stakeholders, technical teams, and customers to enable better collaboration across teams.
- Wide Application – AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner is knowledge based (not skills based). This is a useful first step for non-technical (sales/marketing/line of business) employees as well as technical roles to gain high-level fluency in AWS Cloud.
- Confidence – Gain confidence in preparing for associate/professional-level AWS Certification to build your credibility and career. Cloud Practitioner is a great way to understand AWS Cloud basics before you dive deeper into role-based certifications.
The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner enables your line of business employees to gain basic cloud fluency. They will be able to demonstrate an overall understanding of AWS cloud services and cloud computing and communicate more knowledgeably with your stakeholders and customers. Plus, Cloud Practitioner can be an easier entry-point for your on-prem IT employees to get an introduction to the AWS Cloud.
- Expand cloud fluency – As more and more operations move to the cloud, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner offers a means of expanding cloud fluency throughout your organization. McKinsey and Company has estimated that 87 percent of business organizations are already suffering skill gaps. Similarly, Gartner notes that 80 percent of the world’s employees do not have the skills they need to take on a more future-proofed role.
- Build customer trust – expanded cloud fluency enables employees to communicate better and more effectively with stakeholders and customers – showing yhour commitment to improving customer experience.
- Reskilling and upskilling – AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner is a great primer to reskill non-technical employees looking to move to cloud careers. A 2018 study from the Adecco Group (the parent company of LHH) and Boston Consulting Group estimated that the per-employee savings from reskilling/upskilling were $136,000. The savings typically came from reduced spending on recruitment, outplacement costs, and severance.
- Increased retention – According to ESG, 87% of learners surveyed say that having their organization support them in attaining AWS Certification goals would make them less likely to look at outside job opportunities
AWS offers over 200 full-featured services customers can purchase, with use cases spanning business continuity and disaster recovery, DevOps, analytics, databases, data management and governance, the internet of things, and more. Similarly, AWS has purpose-built solutions based on organizations’ industries and type (e.g., from startup to enterprise to public sector).
The drivers for cloud adoption are varied. Many organizations seek to offload capacity planning, architecting, and tuning infrastructure to the cloud service provider. For others, rapid provisioning, scaling, and deprovisioning infrastructure is the key value proposition. For others, the financial flexibility afforded by shifting capital expenditures to operational expenditures is paramount. Others seek infrastructure more compatible with agile application development workflows or off-the-shelf solutions related to analytics, automation, or machine learning that the organization does not have the time to build in-house.
However, the potential benefits that the cloud can offer will not be realized if the organization does not have staff with the right skills to implement them, and AWS has designed a robust training curriculum to help customers maximize the impact they can have on their businesses with AWS services.
You will learn directly from AWS experts who have domain experience and access to the latest AWS Cloud products, services, and teaching methods. This training will increase your credibility as someone who uses and makes decisions about cloud services. Building clouds skills through high-quality digital training can also support the credibility of your entire organization. When your technologists and strategists are well trained in cloud skills, they can more easily project confidence about your cloud strategy.
